Introduction to the HHSRS: One day
We look at the strengths and the limitations of the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) since it was introduced to replace the old Housing Act methods of assessing a dwelling.
We look at the hazards, risks and likelihood at the 29 hazards to allow you to understand how the scoring of hazards are calculated and what that means. The course is designed to allow you to familiarise yourself with the techniques used. We discuss a number of real cases (the names have been changed to protect the innocent) and discuss how the outcomes led to where they did and how they cold have been avoided.
We end the day with you carrying out an assessment based on photos and a scenario. We then look through the reports to pick up strengths and weaknesses for you to practice on and take forward.
